Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Jib Creatives collects when you visit jibcreatives.com or get in touch, why we collect it, who we share it with and what your rights are. It is written to be read, not skimmed past, so it is short.

1. Who we are

Jib Creatives is a UK content creation business run by Monique, making UGC video, short-form video editing and product photography for brands. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Jib Creatives is the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us at [email protected].

2. Information we collect

When you contact us through the enquiry form, by email or by message on social media, we collect what you give us: your name, your email address, the name of your brand or company, the service or package you are interested in, and anything you tell us about your project. We do not ask for anything else and you should not send us payment card details by email or through the form.

When you visit the site, our analytics tools collect technical information about the visit: the pages viewed, the rough location derived from your IP address, the device and browser used, and how you arrived at the site. This is only collected if you accept analytics cookies in the banner shown on your first visit (see section 5).

If we film content for you and you or your team appear in it, we will hold that footage and any photographs. That is covered in section 8.

3. Why we use it and our legal basis

We reply to enquiries and discuss projects because it is in our legitimate interests to respond to people who contact us, and because you have asked us to. Once we agree to work together, we use your information to deliver the project, send invoices and keep the records we are required to keep, which is necessary for the contract between us and for our legal obligations. We use analytics only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. We do not use your information for automated decision making and we do not sell it.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent or trade your information. We share it only with the services we need to run the business, each of which processes it on our instructions:

• Our website host, where the site and its enquiry form (WPForms) store submitted messages.
• Our email provider, which stores the emails we exchange with you.
• Google, for Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, if you accept analytics cookies.
• Cloudflare, which protects the site and provides basic, cookie-free visitor statistics.
• Google Fonts and Fontshare, which serve the site's typefaces and receive your IP address when a page loads.
• Our accountant and, where a payment is made, the payment processor or bank involved.

We may also share information where the law requires it.

5. Cookies and analytics

The site uses a consent banner (Complianz) to ask before setting any non-essential cookies. Strictly necessary cookies, including the one that remembers your banner choice, are set without consent because the site cannot work without them. Analytics cookies from Google Analytics are set only if you accept them, and you can change your mind at any time using the cookie settings link in the banner or the footer. Cloudflare's visitor statistics do not use cookies and do not identify you. We do not use advertising cookies.

6. International transfers

Some of the services listed above are based in, or store data in, the United States. Where that happens we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses that those providers offer, or on the UK adequacy decision where one applies. Monique also travels for work, including outside the UK, and may read and reply to your enquiry from abroad. Your information stays on the UK and EU based systems above; it is accessed remotely, not moved.

7. How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a project are deleted after 12 months. Records of projects we deliver, including the messages, briefs, invoices and final files, are kept for 6 years after the project ends because we are required to keep business records for that long for tax purposes. Analytics data is kept for the period set in Google Analytics, which is currently 14 months. You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time; we will do so unless we are legally required to keep it.

8. Footage and photographs

If you appear in content we create, we hold that footage as part of the project record and, where agreed, use it in the finished work delivered to the client. We may also show a short excerpt of completed work in our own portfolio, on this website and on our social channels, unless you or the client ask us not to. Ownership and usage rights for the finished content are agreed in writing before a project starts and sit in our terms, not in this policy. If you appear in footage filmed in a public place and would like it removed, email us and we will take it down where we can.

9. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct anything that is wrong;
• ask us to delete your information;
• ask us to stop or restrict how we use it;
• object to us using it on the basis of legitimate interests;
• receive the information you gave us in a portable format;
• withdraw consent for analytics at any time.

To use any of these, email [email protected]. We will reply within one month. If you are not happy with how we handle your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113, though we would rather you told us first so we can put it right.

10. Security

The site is served over HTTPS, protected by Cloudflare and kept updated. Enquiries are stored on the host and in our email account, both protected by strong passwords and two-factor authentication. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we treat your information with care and only keep what we need.

11. Children

This site and our services are aimed at businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the way we work changes, for example if we add a new tool that handles your information. The latest version is always on this page with the date it was updated.
