UGC conversion rates hit 6.7x in early 2026. What the numbers mean for your budget

Every so often a number lands that’s worth pinning above your desk. Here’s this year’s: in the first three months of 2026, product pages featuring user-generated content converted 6.73 times better than pages without it. That’s the headline from Emplifi’s Q1 2026 benchmarks, and it’s the clearest read yet on where UGC conversion rates are heading. If you’re working out what to spend on content this quarter, this is the stat to start from.

The number, and where it comes from.

Emplifi pulled the data from thousands of US brand accounts on its platform, covering January to March 2026. Conversions on pages with UGC climbed from 4.27x in the final quarter of 2025 to 6.73x in Q1 2026 – a jump of nearly 58% in a single quarter. Traffic moved the same way: pages featuring UGC drew 4.11x more website visits than pages without, up from 3.83x the quarter before. And commerce kept sliding into the feed, with e-commerce brands making up 42.1% of all Facebook interactions, up from 35.8%. You can read the full announcement here and the underlying benchmarks here.

What a 6.7x multiplier actually means.

It doesn’t mean UGC magically makes people spend seven times more. It means a shopper who sees a real person using the thing – holding it, wearing it, eating it, telling you plainly what they thought – is a lot closer to buying than one staring at a polished studio shot. The multiplier is the gap between “this looks nice” and “right, that’s for me.” Real content closes that gap because it answers the quiet question every shopper is asking: is this actually any good, or is it just the brand talking?

Why UGC conversion rates keep climbing.

Feeds are fuller than ever, and a lot of what fills them is cheap and forgettable. That makes anything that feels real stand out more, not less. When someone is scrolling past a hundred ads a day, the clip that reads like a friend’s recommendation is the one that stops the thumb. That’s the whole reason I film the way I do – vlog-style, sound on, no glossy voice-of-god narration. The point isn’t to look expensive. The point is to look believable, because believable is what converts.

The money is already moving.

Brands aren’t waiting to be convinced. In the Influencer Marketing Hub 2026 benchmark survey of more than 600 marketers, 87.49% said they expect their creator budgets to rise this year, and only 5.55% expect a cut. Nearly three-quarters – 72.22% – plan to increase spend by 50% or more. The same report flags a steady shift toward nano and micro creators and UGC-driven production, rather than big one-off influencer deals. You can see the full benchmark report here. Put the two findings side by side and the story writes itself: budgets are growing, and they’re flowing towards the content that actually shifts the numbers.

What this means for your budget.

Here’s how I’d read a 6.7x number if I were splitting a content budget for the next quarter. Don’t sink the lot into one hero film that lives on your homepage and nowhere else. Put UGC where the decision actually happens – on the product page, in paid social, in your retargeting. Those are the moments a shopper is weighing you up, and those are the moments a real face earns its keep. A single polished ad can’t be everywhere at once. A handful of honest clips can.

A few things worth building into the plan:

  • Lead with UGC on your product pages. That’s where the 6.7x is being earned, and it’s the cheapest place to test it.
  • Film a few angles, not one. Different hooks, different benefits, different creators – so you’ve got fresh cuts to feed paid social without starting from scratch each time.
  • Own the footage. Agree usage up front so you can reuse the same shoot across your site, ads and email instead of paying again every time.
  • Keep it sound-on and native. Content built for the platform beats content lifted off a TV script.

The honest caveat.

One quarter of data is a signal, not a law. Emplifi’s numbers come from its own client base, and your own mileage will depend on your product, your price and how well the content is made. A lazy UGC clip converts about as well as a lazy ad. But the direction of travel is hard to argue with: real content is pulling more visits and more sales, more marketers are backing it, and the shoppers have been telling us this for years. The brands winning on it aren’t the ones with the biggest budgets. They’re the ones putting believable content in front of people at the exact moment they’re deciding.
